COPS is AWESOME!

I am not talking about the real uniform wearing gun and badge toting men and women that protect and serve, but the TV show. I am not sure why I enjoy watching this show so much, especially as of late, but man do I enjoy this! Don't get me wrong the real cops are pretty alright in my book as well but this stuff on TV just rocks! Just felt like sharing.

Figured it out!

Alright people I have decided on what I am going to do in the next chapter of my life. Starting at a date yet to be determined, I will be headed back to school to get my learning on with the goal of becoming a history teacher. Thats right, teaching history to the youngins. More specifically I want to teach American history, which I think is a perfect fit for me. Of course, like every other plan I have had, this is just my plan for now. Nothing is set in stone and who knows, maybe I will just become a bum and live out of a van down by the river. Or maybe be a Buddhist monk! Ya know, cool haircut, awesome toga, and ring bells all day.

What now...

So something I have been thinking about lately is what should I do now that I am about to be retired at the ripe 'ol age of 24? I never really thought that I would be out of the Navy after only 5 years, in fact I really was looking forward to doing 20 and then retiring. But alas that was not in the cards for me. So what should I do? Get a job and work, or go to school? I don't know. Heck I don't even know if I want to stay where I am at or go somewhere else and start completely anew. I do know, or at least think, that I don't want to work with computers anymore, although the pay would be good out there in civilian land, so maybe I should. However, I have always wanted to go to school, but what would I study? Don't get me wrong I greatly enjoy learning new things but to have decide what one thing I want to learn and do for the rest of my life is a pretty daunting thought. Well I am not sure where I was going with this just felt like writing it down somewhere.

Far Too Long...

Well my friends I realize that it has been far too long since I last posted and like usual I apologize for that. Two weeks ago I had to get yet another surgery to "fix" me hip and, like last time, they say everything should work fine now. While I appreciate the doctors optimism, I am not going to count my chickens before they hatch this time. So in the mean time I am back to spending my days on the couch "rehabilitating." Once again Mom has come down from the great white north to render assistance and it is always very much so appreciated. I never would have guessed that being an adult and relying my mom would be something that I would ever had enjoyed but these last two surgeries it has worked out great!
Prior to my undergoing the knife I started to take up biking in my attempt to become the next Lane armstrong and although this short period of being unable to ride has definitely postponed that, it shouldn't be long until I am back at it. In the mean time I just play a lot of video games. My favorite this time has been fishing on the wii and tennis on the PS3. Nothing like killing time by playing sport video games that you can't really play in real life. Well I guess that should do for now, and I promise, like always, that I will do my very best to try post more often this. Anyway here is a photo of me after I apparently fell asleep while the guys were over watching the Ball-game.

Recovery Time

So as most of you know, I recently under went some massive hip surgery. Yes that's right, 23 years old an already having hip surgery. Well anyway the surgery appeared to have gone great until two weeks afterwards, then they took out my stitches. As soon as the doc removes them it became blatantly obvious that one of my incision site had an infection and intact was not even slightly healed up. Well we are now 5 weeks post up and I am happy to share that the infection has been concquered, and the wound is actually starting to heal, finally. Now the doc says that there is an abundance of scar tissue as a result which basically puts me back 4 weeks in my rehab. All in all this has been a pretty horrible time. I dis get about 40 days off though, if you can call spending many hours a day seeing doctors off time.
So anyway it is back to work for me, or so I thought. Turns out that my chief I really worried about me going up stairs to my office because I am still on crutches and has given me a new, but temporary, position. I am the official sit in a chair and stare at the wall guy. Now don't get me wrong, I can stare with the beat of them, however this just means that all the work that has been piling up, is continuing to pile up. I think today he and I are going to have a little chat and hopefully he will understand that stairs really aren't the enemy here, terrorists are.

VFW

So fo quite some time now i have been meaning to join the VFW. In fct I had even convinced a room mate of mine to join too. However, we seemed to always get side tracked and had not joined, until today that is. We were goingto grab some lunch and there was a guy on base sign up new members and we both joined. I am now a full fledged member of the Veterans of Foriegn Wars! The beat part about it is that I didn't have to join a specific post, but join as a member at large. This means that I am a part of the VFW as a whole and don't have to be tied down to a single post, which is great because who knows where I will be in a year. We are going to our first meeting tomorrow and I am really lookin forward to it.
