What now...

So something I have been thinking about lately is what should I do now that I am about to be retired at the ripe 'ol age of 24? I never really thought that I would be out of the Navy after only 5 years, in fact I really was looking forward to doing 20 and then retiring. But alas that was not in the cards for me. So what should I do? Get a job and work, or go to school? I don't know. Heck I don't even know if I want to stay where I am at or go somewhere else and start completely anew. I do know, or at least think, that I don't want to work with computers anymore, although the pay would be good out there in civilian land, so maybe I should. However, I have always wanted to go to school, but what would I study? Don't get me wrong I greatly enjoy learning new things but to have decide what one thing I want to learn and do for the rest of my life is a pretty daunting thought. Well I am not sure where I was going with this just felt like writing it down somewhere.

  1. Hey Eric,

Don't lose heart, will ya? There are a lot of exciting things happening in the utility sector. The pay is pretty decent, and the jobs offer a lot of variety. Take some down time, maybe head up to Longview and see what's happening at the Mint Farm. Think renewable resources. Just get your bachelor's degree, ok? If you'd like to come up here you're always welcome (hotter than hot right now ~ for your wimpy aunt & me. I know Iraq must have been way worse)

    Any way we love you!
    Trish
